Cable Cord Cut. Monthly TWC Bill Now Much Lower with Internet Only: ~$55/mo

A couple months ago I cancelled my Time Warner Cable service and returned the cable box and remote. This cut down the cost of my monthly Time Warner Cable bill to just the high speed internet service. This is how the monthly bill looks now:

Current Statement Charges $55.25
Internet Modem Lease $3.95
Standard Internet $51.95
Paperless Credit -$1.00
State And Local Sales Tax $.35

Before I dropped cable service my internet charge had the line item as follows: "Road Runner Online Svc $39.95". The internet service was $10 cheaper as you got a discount with a "bundled" cable TV package. Dropping cable TV service causes the internet service charge to be the higher non-bundled price of $51.95, and the terrible new $3.95/mo modem rental fee brings the total up to ~$55/month. The internet service speed is unchanged since I cut the cord. I have the Standard service with download speeds up to 15Mbps and upload speeds up to 1Mbps. The speeds I observe via speedtest.net are inline with these numbers and I am generally happy with performance.

I am now saving about $100 month. See one of my prior bills where I had cable TV package which was ~155/mo. This is a significant savings and it is the main reason why I chose to cut the cable TV cord.
